Birthing Choices & Labour

 Preparing For Birth

As your pregnancy progresses you begin to think of the time when you will be bringing a new life into the world.  This is a time of excitement and anticipation.  Traditionally, most babies were born at home with the support of family.  Things changed over time and the birthing process became 'medicalized' with the improvement in modern medical techniques and most of us were born in a traditional hospital setting.  For many of us, our mothers do not remember our births due to practises such as 'twilight' sleep used in the 50's to assist women through labour and delivery.

Times have changed, and we now have more choices than ever as to how we want to bring that precious new life into the world.  The resources on this page have been chosen to help you make an informed choice.  I am sure you will find many people to offer their opinions, however, always remember that the right choice is the one YOU feel comfortable with.

Happy Birthing!
